Are You Crisis Ready?

29 August 2017

Join David Hawkins for a Crisis Lesson –

A crisis can occur when you least expect it.  It’s usually a case of when, not if.

The important question is:

Are you ready and capable of dealing with the range of possible scenarios that could threaten your organisation, no matter how unlikely you think they might be to occur?

Preparing for a crisis is like preparing for your most important game day. It takes strategy, discipline, team building and perhaps most importantly, commitment.

On Monday, 27 November, you have the opportunity to join a crisis simulation and learn from crisis management expert, David Hawkins, Managing Director of Socom, in the old Beechworth Gaol. This workshop is designed for CEOs, board directors or key decision-makers and your communications or PR staff.

You will be given an overview of crisis management, receive a briefing and then work through a simulation.

This is a rare opportunity to experience such a simulation in a group setting in the old Gaol with David, who is part of the Prime Minister’s Cyber Security Taskforce.

In an extensive and much awarded career, David has won more than 40 national and international awards for his work.  He has first-hand experience having advised on the Cranbourne landfill methane crisis, Black Saturday bushfires, the Mars chocolate bar extortion case and a range of lesser known crises involving OHS issues, union disputes, fraud and sexual misconduct, to name a few.

David is an experienced and engaging facilitator who will share his 30 years of experience and learnings to ensure participants leave the session with a clear understanding of what they need to do to improve their crisis preparedness.

The event is brought to you by Fishbowl PR and the Public Relations Institute of Australia.

Date:    Monday, 27 November
Time:    11.40am  to 3pm
