‘Tis the Season

‘Tis the Season to Reflect on Relationships and Storytelling

Often the festive season gives us pause to reflect on our lives and our work.

When I look back over the people and projects I had the opportunity to work with this year, it highlights the importance of two things; relationships and storytelling.

Each project has harnessed the power of these two elements to contribute to social or environmental benefits for the region.

Ken’s story of how the Rural Housing Network’s service saved his life will stay with me forever. He shared it so that it might reach others who need to know there’s help available.

Telling the story of new approaches to education and building a community of support is what the launch of the Australian Centre for Rural Entrepreneurship was all about. It’s their vision and programs that will give young people new options in a changing world, assisting them to become job creators, stay in the regions and build a new future.

Relationships were key to understanding how the most marginalised children and families in the Shepparton area could be reached by Greater Shepparton Communities for Children programs, enabling more people to access the programs and improve their wellbeing and that of the community.

It’s been exciting work and a privilege to help these and other teams.

If you’ve got a project that combines building relationships and telling your story, then we’ve got the experience and networks to assist you. Read more about our other 2016 projects.

I wish you a relaxing festive season and time to re-energise before an action packed 2017!
